The Moore Family Foundation

Living Boldly. Building Hope.

We're Mark and Beth Moore. Our son William and our daughter Mary were both born with Spinal Muscular Atrophy — four years apart, with two very different stories. This foundation is how we carry both of them forward.

Our story

2011 · William

William was diagnosed with SMA Type 1 at two months old. There was no treatment, and we were told to prepare for the worst. He lived boldly anyway — every day his condition allowed — until 2019.

2015 · Mary

Mary was born with SMA, too. This time there was a clinical trial, and because she was treated early, she walks, talks, and twirls a baton today.

The difference between their stories was research, early diagnosis, and access to care. That difference is why we started this foundation — for every family still waiting on their breakthrough.
